Alchem Industries has had previous problems with an IT service provider and realised that the future growth of our successful business was clearly only going to be as good as the IT competance and infrastructure given to us by the service provider.We had known Kevan of Hampsons IT from a previous incarnation and felt he had the qualities we were looking for - competance, integrety , honesty and the desire to be a part of our future expansion.

Having said all that it was still not an easy decision to switch because of perceived transition problems. I can only say that when the decision was made, the installation of the new server and 15 workstations was meticulously planned by Kevan to fall in a window of opportunity which occured over the Christmas period (when our office had minimum staffing levels).

Since then the IT within our organisation has functioned without any notable faults and Kevan has always been available either remotely or on site to answer any questions or issues raised by our staff.

If any potential client, thinking of making the change to Hampsons IT is undecided ,I would have only two words to say ' DO IT '!!!!

I was recommended to Hampsons IT in 2007 but unfortunately had just signed a contract with another company who had bought out my original computer engineer and I found myself tied until the end of December 2009.

When I started motoringlawyers.com in 2005 I used a local engineer who was ideal for our purposes and understood our need for immediate support should a problem arise.

All solicitors who are involved with motoringlawyers.com are based in different parts of England & Wales, although most of our administration is done from Altrincham, Cheshire. Consequently all information needs to be available 24/7 within our network. Our original engineer understood this, the people that bought him out didn’t.

In April this year, the time came for the reassessment of our contract and I was provided with an estimate for updated services and three alternative recommendations.

When I reviewed the estimate and recommendations I was concerned. I am not a computer expert – all we need is for the machinery to work without problems. The estimate I read didn’t feel right.

I had kept Hampsons IT’s phone number and telephoned for a comparative quote.

I was so impressed I gave notice of my contract with the other engineers and ended contact immediately even though we had six months to run.

Hampsons IT showed me what had not been done, what should be done and how my various machines could be improved and maintained.

The changeover was not painless. This was not due to the engineers’ actions but errors by the internet provider. However, HampsonsIT were determined not to fail and persevered throughout in order to perfect the service and performance of the computers. Our computers have now been stablised at a fraction of the cost of the estimate I was given in April from the other engineers. What is more, I am confident that the service with which I have been provided by Hampsons will continue – all their engineers are completely conscientious and obviously dedicated to providing fantastic service.
